Mike wanted to give Emily a photo session for her birthday.  When talking to Emily about a location for the shoot, we had a hard time locking one down.  The locations were either in the middle of a busy season with their businesses (go them!) or were not available the day we were planning on shooting.

We did know one thing: we wanted a location that was rustic, relaxed, and beautiful in its own charming way.  A couple days before the session- we finally realized that the perfect location was at our fingertips, and available this whole time: our backyard!

We transformed our backyard into the rustic and relaxed setting Emily was dreaming of, plus we added a campfire because who doesn’t want s’mores while they’re laughing and enjoying time with their loved one?

It was perfect, it was a private setting were the two of them could forget about everybody else (Except for my husband Ian who was building a fire and making them laugh the whole time!) and just relax and enjoy being with each other– which are PERFECT settings for great photos!
